Birdseed wreath

In science, we are studying birds. We have made a bird wreath in hopes of attracting different types of bird to be able to study them up close and personal.
The recipe is very easy.

Birdseed wreath
3/4 cup of flour
1/2 cup of warm water
3 Tbs. light corn syrup
1 package of unflavored gelatin
4 cups of bird seed

bundt pan
cooking spray

Step 1: Mix edible glue.  Stir the gelatin into the warm water until it is dissolved.  Whisk in the light corn  syrup and flour.  Stir until there are no more lumps.  The glue should be gooey.

Step 2:  Add bird seed to the glue mixture.  Mix until the bird seed is coated with the glue.

Step 3:  Spray the bundt pan with cooking spray and press the bird seed mixture into the pan.  Press it down firmly until it is well packed and even.  Let stand over night.

This type of wreath works really well in the winter.  The gelatin can get soft and cause the wreath to fall apart in the warmer weather.

Have a great weekend!
Love
Tracy
